By using QUALIA, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before continuing to use the application.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using QUALIA ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Archetype Origin Dynamics Inc. ("Company," "we," "us").
2. Not a Substitute for Professional Care
QUALIA is a self-guided mental health wellness tool designed to support emotional regulation and psychological self-care. QUALIA is NOT:
A replacement for licensed therapy, counseling, or psychiatric treatment
A medical device or FDA-approved diagnostic tool
A crisis intervention service or suicide prevention hotline
A substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), 911, or your local emergency services immediately. QUALIA's emergency contact feature uses your device's native dialer and is provided as a convenience, not a guarantee of emergency response.
The cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) reframing engine, somatic exercises, and journaling features within QUALIA are based on established psychological frameworks but are delivered as self-guided educational tools, not clinical treatment.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use QUALIA. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the App. By using QUALIA, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.
4. Your Account & Data
QUALIA operates on a local-first architecture. You are solely responsible for:
The security of your device and any biometric locks configured within QUALIA
Backing up your device — uninstalling QUALIA permanently destroys all local clinical data
The accuracy of emergency contact information you enter
Any content you generate within the journal, thought catcher, or worry vault
We do not create user accounts or store credentials. There is no "password recovery" because we do not hold your data.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
QUALIA offers both free ("Sanctuary") and premium ("Deep Healing") tiers:
Free Tier: Core crisis tools, basic mood tracking, and grounding exercises are available at no cost, forever.
Premium Tier: Advanced features including the AI Thought Catcher, Shadow Journal, Somatic Sandbox, and Therapist Export are available via auto-renewing subscriptions ($14.99/month or $69.99/year) or a one-time Lifetime purchase ($299.99).
All payments are processed exclusively through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not directly collect or store payment information.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
You may manage or cancel subscriptions through your device's App Store / Play Store settings.
Refund requests are subject to Apple's or Google's respective refund policies.
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
Use QUALIA to harm yourself or others — if you are in crisis, please seek professional help immediately
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
Use QUALIA to generate content that is illegal, threatening, or violates any applicable law
Attempt to extract or replicate QUALIA's cognitive distortion detection algorithms for commercial use
Misrepresent QUALIA-generated content as professional medical advice
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, algorithms (including the cognitive distortion detection engine), user interface elements, branding, and therapeutic frameworks within QUALIA are the intellectual property of Archetype Origin Dynamics Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Content you create within QUALIA (journal entries, thought logs, etc.) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your personal clinical data.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
QUALIA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that QUALIA will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any clinical outcomes will result from use of the App. The effectiveness of self-guided therapeutic techniques varies by individual.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ARCHETYPE ORIGIN DYNAMICS INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF QUALIA.
Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for QUALIA subscriptions in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Archetype Origin Dynamics Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of QUALIA, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through in-app notifications or app update release notes. Your continued use of QUALIA after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Delaware.
